Packaging & Documentation Designer

Theodore, AL | $50,000–$60,000 DOE | Direct Hire

Are you an early-career graphic designer who wants to do more than create social media posts and marketing collateral?

We’re looking for a Packaging & Documentation Designer to join a growing team in Theodore, AL. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity ideal for a recent graphic design graduate or junior designer who enjoys visual problem-solving, layout, print production, and turning complex information into clear, polished designs.

The primary focus of the role is packaging and graphic design, with additional responsibility for creating and maintaining technical and manufacturing documentation.

What You’ll Do

Packaging & Graphic Design

  • Design product packaging from concept through print-ready production
  • Create layouts and templates for shipping boxes, pallets, and logistics labels
  • Develop digital product mockups and virtual samples for presentations and customer approvals
  • Create visual guides, line drawings, and step-by-step instructional materials
  • Photograph products and prototypes for documentation and visual records

Technical & Manufacturing Documentation

  • Write clear assembly and manufacturing instructions
  • Create and update material and product specification sheets
  • Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure documentation reflects current part information
  • Process and organize design changes, revisions, and temporary updates
  • Maintain project histories, testing documentation, sample logs, and related records

Collaboration

  • Work closely with team members across design, manufacturing, and technical functions
  • Help ensure visual materials and written documentation remain accurate, consistent, and up to date

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree in Graphic Design or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong visual design fundamentals, including:
    • Page layout
    • Typography
    • Graphic placement
    • Print preparation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately coordinate written and visual information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable balancing creative projects with structured documentation and deadlines
