Job description

Role Description:

The Salesperson will be responsible for generating leads, developing new business, and managing the full sales cycle for capital equipment solutions, including packaging machinery such as baggers, stretch wrappers, and related automation systems. The Salesperson will also be responsible for building long-term customer relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

This role includes both customer-facing field visits and time spent at the B&C Industries office managing sales activities, preparing proposals, and collaborating with internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, industry networking, trade shows, and referrals
  • Conduct on-site visits and technical consultations to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate machinery solutions
  • Manage the full sales process from initial contact through proposal development, quoting, negotiation, and closing
  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and project teams to ensure smooth equipment installation and customer onboarding
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts through regular follow-ups and value-added support
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to overall company growth

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in capital equipment or industrial machinery sales, preferably in the packaging industry
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand and present machinery specifications and benefits
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory or region
  • Experience in stretch wrappers, baggers, case sealers, or other packaging automation systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting processes
