Position Overview

A growing packaging, automation, and industrial solutions company is seeking an Industrial Machinery Sales Representative to help expand its packaging automation equipment division. This individual will work closely with customers and internal sales teams to identify automation opportunities, recommend equipment solutions, and drive machinery sales growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong sales abilities with technical aptitude and enjoys helping customers solve operational challenges through automation and equipment solutions. Success will be measured by new business development, machinery revenue growth, customer relationship management, and successful sales execution.

Responsibilities
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, trade shows, and customer outreach
  • Identify customer packaging and operational challenges and recommend appropriate machinery and automation solutions
  • Conduct customer meetings, facility walkthroughs, and equipment consultations
  • Present machinery capabilities, technical specifications, and operational benefits to customers
  • Develop proposals, quotations, and equipment recommendations
  • Partner with sales representatives to support customer presentations and technical discussions
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers and prospects
  • Manage sales opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact through closing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support equipment implementation and customer onboarding
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline information within company systems
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales and revenue goals
  • Stay current on industry trends, automation technology, and competitive solutions
Qualifications
  • Proven B2B sales experience, preferably involving industrial equipment, machinery, automation, manufacturing, or technical products
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical equipment and applications
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend value-driven solutions
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Experience conducting customer site visits and operational assessments preferred
  • Packaging machinery, automation, material handling, or capital equipment sales experience is a plus
  • Experience with stretch wrappers, baggers, conveyors, case sealers, or related machinery is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
  • Ability to travel locally for customer meetings and industry events
