A top CNC machine tool distributor in the USA is looking for an experienced regional sales manager for the Northeast territory. The territory states would include MA,CT,VT,NH,ME,RI. The ideal candidate would have 5-30 years experience with CNC machine tool sales. CMTSE certification is a plus.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing sales representatives within a designated regional office while directly contributing to revenue growth through personal sales efforts. This role combines strong leadership and performance management with hands-on selling responsibilities, driving both individual and team success.

The role reports to the Senior Vice President of National Sales.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives within the regional office
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor progress against sales targets and KPIs
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, performance reviews, and development planning
  • Address performance issues proactively, including improvement plans where needed
  • Foster a positive, accountability-driven sales culture

Sales Execution & Revenue Generation

  • Maintain an individual sales quota and actively manage a personal pipeline
  • Identify, pursue, and close key opportunities within the region
  • Partner with sales reps on strategic deals to drive win rates and revenue growth
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales processes and methodologies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, sales enablement, Operations/SIOP teams, and other leadership to drive regional growth and provide an excellent customer experience.

qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Proven success in both individual sales performance and team leadership
  • Strong experience with performance management, coaching, and employee development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both personal and team sales pipelines
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures.

  • Drive profitability through operational efficiency and waste reduction.

minimum education / experience

  • At least 5 years experience in machine tool, industrial or capital equipment sales
  • Knowledge of CNC Machining and understanding of complex milling/turning and EDM processes.
  • Knowledge of CMM Inspection equipment and metrology practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of sales representatives

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 25% of time

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
