Job description

Job Title: Packaging Associate
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Cary, NC
Pay: $16.66 per hour
Schedule: Rotating Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary:
The Packaging Production Associate supports the packaging team in producing high-quality finished products by performing hand collating, final assembly, kit building, packaging, and material handling activities. This role is responsible for maintaining quality, meeting production schedules, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a team environment, and is committed to delivering quality products on time. New associates will complete an onboarding program covering job setup, operational procedures, and packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete required onboarding training, including basic job setup, operational procedures, and packaging workflow.
  • Review daily production schedules, job specifications, and work instructions to prepare for assigned production runs.
  • Verify required materials and product specifications prior to beginning each job.
  • Perform hand collating, final assembly, and kit-building activities according to production requirements.
  • Assemble and package products in the correct sequence while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support the packaging team in producing high-quality products while meeting production deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Handle finished products and package materials onto pallets, corrugated cartons, or carts for shipment or storage.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and notify the Line Lead of any defects or non-conforming materials.
  • Operate basic auxiliary equipment, such as manual shrink wrappers, cartoners, box cutters, and other packaging devices, under supervision.
  • Stage materials and prepare upcoming production jobs by loading product materials onto the production line.
  • Accurately record labor time and material usage in the Manufacturing Information System (MIS).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, security protocols, standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and ISO requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient production and operational success.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Basic proficiency with intranet systems and Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS).
