The hours of this position are 7:00a.m. โ€“ 5:00p.m. days of the week rotate, every other weekend off

What you will be doing:

  • Sets up, prepares and monitors machines and equipment for operation according to production requirements. Such equipment and machines may include sifters, elevators, packaging equipment, tank blending systems and other process equipment.
  • Works as member of the Packaging Team to prepare product for final delivery to customers. This may include preparing product for packaging, filling containers, applying labels, stacking, unitizing, or banding finished product.
  • Operates filling equipment to fills 50-lb bags, 2000 lb sacks, 2000 lb boxes or 5-gallon pails in accordance with production needs.
  • Operates a sit-down forklift to transport material to final packaging process and to the plant warehouse.
  • Receives packaging materials from the warehouse and has responsibility for accepting or rejecting incoming material based on the quality of the material.
  • Has significant responsibility in ensuring compliance to environmental permits and partaking in the facility's ISO 9001 Quality Program.
  • Operates in the Packaging department in a manner intended to meet plant goals regarding Safety, Environment, Quality, and Production goals.
  • Is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Quality Control log books and communicating timely and relevant information to fellow workers and/or supervisors.
  • Understands that safe work practices is a condition of employment and is actively engaged in activities such as identifying workplace hazards and writing and updating work procedures.
  • Assists the Team Leader or other Packaging Team members in routine maintenance procedures.

Minimum requirements for the position:

High school diploma or GED

One plus years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Must be Forklift certified in the past
