About the role
We are looking for a Packaging Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting Lithium hydroxide in bags, drums, and supersacks per customer requirements.
This is a temporary position that will last approximately 6 months.
This is a great opportunity to meet customer requirements in support of the Lithium Hydroxide production areas.
Reporting to the Quality Program Manager and working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, you will:
  • Responsible for ensuring proper packaging and labeling per customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for inspection and upkeep of safety related equipment and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and orderliness in the packaging inspection area.
  • Operates forklift to move packaging material to and from the Line 1 and Line 2 packaging areas.
  • Responsible for operating forklifts, power tools, and specialized equipment outlined in SOPs in the performance of their assigned tasks.
  • Maintains inventory of packaging materials.

About you
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two-year degree desired.
  • Six months' experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in operating all area equipment and had the ability to run more than one unit at a time when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Uses the computer to accurately enter information and data into Rio Tinto business systems (SAP, Cority, MOC).
