Inspection - QC II

Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Industry: Oil & Gas Manufacturing

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector II to support inspection activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and company quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components and assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related inspection tools.
  • Review and validate quality documentation, including inspection reports, Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), CMTRs, and customer-required documentation packages.
  • Inspect warehouse-picked materials for correct part numbers and quantities.
  • Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Identify nonconforming materials and support NCR and corrective action processes.
  • Review inspection results and communicate quality concerns to production and engineering teams.
  • Verify packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements prior to product release.
  • Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, and quality personnel to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Follow company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or technical/mechanical education.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and inspection documents.
  • Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting valves, pressure-containing equipment, or mechanical assemblies.
  • Oil & Gas manufacturing experience.
  • SAP or ERP system experience.
  • GD&T knowledge and application experience.
  • Experience reviewing MTRs, CMTRs, CoCs, and quality documentation packages.
  • Experience with API and ISO quality standards.
  • NDT exposure (PT, MT, UT, or VT) preferred.
