Job Description
U.S. Steel is seeking reliable and safety-conscious OCTG Premium Threaded Pipe Inspectors to join our team. This role involves various responsibilities within the manufacturing process of oil country tubular goods (OCTG), ensuring the quality and safety of the threaded pipes used in the oil and gas industry. As a Threaded Pipe Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting threads, inspecting accessories and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety objectives, policies, and procedures set by your department and company.
  • Conduct inspections as a Premium Thread Inspector, ensuring threads meet the required specifications.
  • Set up gages and maintain the condition of the gages
  • Perform inspections as an Accessory Thread Inspector.
  • Operate heavy forklifts for material handling.
  • Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness in your assigned work area.
  • Perform any additional duties or tasks as required by supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Hourly Pay: $23.21 with advancement opportunities up to $35.06
  • Quarterly Incentive Bonus Plan.

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience as a Premium Thread Inspector or operating as a Threader Operator
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Must pass a hair follicle and urine drug screen.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including rotating every 3 months, fixed 8-12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
  • Capability to work with and around hot, heavy, sharp, or hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift materials in excess of 25 lbs.

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is a plus.
