Altius Talent is partnering with a growing, mid-sized international freight forwarder with a strong global network and reputation for delivering reliable, customer-focused logistics solutions. This organization offers tailored air and ocean freight services to a diverse and expanding client base.


Position Summary:


Altius Talent is seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Export Specialist on behalf of our client in Miami. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end export shipments across both air and ocean freight, ensuring full compliance with international regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and manage international air and ocean export shipments from booking through final delivery
  • Prepare and process export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and airway bills
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international shipping requirements
  • Communicate with airlines, ocean carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution
  • Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients
  • Handle AES filings and ensure accurate data submission
  • Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies proactively
  • Maintain accurate records within the company’s operating system
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors


Requirements:


  • 2+ years of experience in air and/or ocean export freight forwarding
  • Strong knowledge of export documentation and procedures
  • Experience with AES filings and U.S. export compliance regulations
  • Familiarity with major carrier booking systems and logistics software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working for a freight forwarder or NVOCC
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (a plus)
