Development Administrative Assistant

Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide development administrative support in order to advance Geneva’s mission. The assistant will assist the Development Director in caring for our donor community and stewarding their generosity through communications, data management, event support and stewardship activities.
Summary
The development department works to create a culture of generosity, steward donors and bring resources to support the vision of God’s kingdom work at Geneva. The Development Administrative Assistant must have a passion for being in the details, data accuracy, customer service, creating an environment of joy to the donor’s generosity journey and community with gratitude. This candidate must be a strong communicator with an eye for detail, prompt follow-through and hospitality This position is a member of the Advancement Team and will coordinate across all departments on campus to support the donor’s experience with Geneva.
Supervision Received and Exercised
The Development Administrative Assistant receives oversight from the Development Director. The assistant’s role is essential to the donor’s experience with Geneva with time sensitive communication, stewardship and partnership with the Development Director’s donor cultivation activities. The Development Administrative Assistant must exercise judgment in keeping with the School’s philosophy of education, beliefs and values by following approved communications procedures and protocols.. The Development Director will offer instruction, direction, collaboration, proofing and approval. The work is reviewed regularly and consistently.
Work Schedule
This is a 20 hour-per-week, year-round position. Adjustments to the hours may be possible depending on the fundraising calendar.

Essential Job Functions
Spiritual Leadership
- Study the Bible, God’s only written Word
- Skillfully articulate the personal/ethical implications of a lifelong faith commitment
- Measure knowledge against the standard of God’s revealed truth in Scripture
- Actively participate in the explicitly religious components of the student and community programs
- Demonstrate an overt commitment to the life of a church and its core traditions
- Respect the school’s Christian mission and values, and aid students in Christian formation by exemplifying Christian living, both in and out of the office
- Be a positive role model for students by supporting Geneva’s Beliefs including the School’s Statement of Faith and Statement on Identity, Sexuality and Gender
- Perform duties as a minister and steward of the Christian faith
Administrative Development Support
- Steward donor gifts via acknowledgements, newsletters and events
- Create the monthly digital newsletter
- Support fundraising and donor events with a heart of hospitality for donors and volunteers
- Communicate with donors via email and phone in a spirit of joy and gratitude
Administrative Technical Support
- Database management to maintain constituent records in Bloomerang and ensure data integrity as well as collaborate with team members on campus managing FACTS, ParentSquare and business office recordsÂ
- Maintain the donor database and stay abreast of all database improvements and expanded functions
- Create fundraising reports through the donor database
- Manage donor reports, communications and meeting scheduling through Microsoft Office Suite

Essential Requirements
- A disciple of Jesus Christ and as such, one who models a love for God through obedience to His Word; such obedience is evidenced through convictions, lifestyle and worldview
- A full and unreserved supporter of Geneva’s Beliefs including the School’s Statement of Faith and Statement on Identity, Sexuality and Gender.
- Hold an associate’s degree or its equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of office experience
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of and experience with the philosophy of classical and Christian education
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in working with people

Preferred Experience and Abilities
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience in a classical and Christian school
- Experience working with others as part of a team
Work Environment
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Visual acuity, Auditory function and Speaking capability (with or without correction) necessary to complete the essential job functions
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 20 pounds
- Ability to access other school classrooms, offices, gyms or fields on or off campus
- Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours if needed
