Job description

Job Title: Senior Project Scheduler (Capital Projects)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to manage high-stakes, integrated project baselines for large-scale capital initiatives. This is a strategic role for a professional who understands that a schedule is more than just a list of tasks-it is a powerful tool for predictive analysis, risk mitigation, and financial forecasting.
You will act as the technical subject matter expert for the project management team, orchestrating the integration of scope, schedule, and cost. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Primavera P6, capable of performing advanced sensitivity analysis, managing complex contract performance assessments, and driving "integrated thinking" to improve project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Baseline Development & Predictive Analytics
• Integrated Baselines: Develop qualitative, risk-managed project baselines that provide a reliable measure of project performance.
• Predictive Forecasting: Utilize quantitative risk management tools (Sensitivity Analysis, EMV) to predict project cost/schedule performance. Identify opportunities for "predictive" (opportunity) actions rather than just reacting to variances.
• Variance Management: Forecast schedule performance and variance (SV). Proactively identify potential delays and build contingency plans, workarounds, and "path-optimum" forward activities into the schedule.
Project Controls & Contract Management
• Contractual Oversight: Conduct contract performance assessments and schedule analysis. Review scope against performance data and provide actionable recommendations to Project Management.
• Integration Strategy: Orchestrate the integration of subsidiary management systems (scope, cost, and quality) to create a single source of truth for the project.
• Change Management: Manage the impact of contract modifications on the project schedule. Prepare scopes of work and forecasts for changes to ensure alignment with original objectives.
Stakeholder Leadership & Reporting
• SME Advisor: Serve as a subject matter expert for leadership, Directors, and project teams. Communicate complex schedule data in a way that facilitates effective, value-based decision-making.
• Reporting Excellence: Compile and produce high-level schedule reports tailored to diverse stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and precision in all project communications.
• Standardization: Help manage the utilization of project management guidelines, tools, and processes. Tailor tools and techniques to advance schedule performance and accuracy across the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of direct scheduling experience, OR a High School Diploma with six (6) years of construction/engineering experience (including at least two years as a dedicated scheduler).
• Technical Mastery:
oAdvanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (P6) is strictly required.
oExpert-level skills in spreadsheet development (Excel), data manipulation, and control.
• Core Competencies: Integrated knowledge of project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality management.
• Professionalism: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence project stakeholders. Strong soft skills in conflict resolution, proactive stakeholder management, and clear articulation of complex data.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in large-scale industrial or capital project environments.
• Proficiency in database development and advanced schedule hierarchy generation.
• Valid driver's license.
