Job Description

  • Manage an active caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Represent clients before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
  • Draft pleadings, reports, correspondence, settlement documents, and case evaluations.
  • Conduct discovery, analyze medical records, prepare case strategy, and handle litigation deadlines.
  • Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and other case-related proceedings as needed.
  • Work closely with experienced attorneys and support staff in a paperless, remote environment.
  • Help deliver practical, efficient, and high-quality defense representation to a diverse client base.

Qualifications

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing.
  • 1+ years of defense attorney experience.
  • California workers' compensation defense experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage an active caseload independently.
  • Strong writing, communication, organization, and case management skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a paperless practice environment.
  • Self-insured employer, public entity, or insurance carrier defense experience is a plus.
