Position Summary
Volare Health is seeking aCorporate Director of Nursing (DON) Preceptor to support and develop our Directors of Nursing across our skilled nursing facilities in Oregon, Louisiana, and Hawaii locations. This leadership role is responsible for onboarding, mentoring, and coaching DONs while promoting clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and resident-centered care.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished long-term care nursing leader with strong Director of Nursing experience, expertise in PointClickCare, and a passion for developing clinical leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead onboarding, orientation, and mentoring for new and developing Directors of Nursing.
Coach DONs on nursing operations, leadership, staffing, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices.
Provide training and competency validation in PointClickCare (PCC) and clinical workflows.
Support quality improvement initiatives, QAPI, clinical audits, and performance improvement plans.
Conduct mock surveys and assist facilities with survey readiness, Plans of Correction (POCs), and regulatory compliance.
Evaluate clinical systems related to infection prevention, falls, wounds, medication management, documentation, and resident safety.
Partner with facility, regional, and corporate leadership to improve clinical outcomes and operational performance.
Travel to facilities as needed to provide onsite education, leadership support, and operational assistance.
Qualifications- Required
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Eligible and willing to obtain licensure as needed to support facilities in Oregon, Louisiana, and Hawaii.
Minimum of 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, QAPI, and Plans of Correction.
Demonstrated expertise with PointClickCare (PCC).
Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing nursing leaders.
Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
- Preferred
ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or higher.
Multi-facility, regional, or corporate clinical leadership experience.
Experience with mock surveys, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness.
Professional certifications in nursing leadership, infection prevention, wound care, MDS, or quality improvement.
