Job description

Instructional Designer
Department: Training & Enablement
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Bethesda
Compensation: $67,000 - $78,000 / year
Description
As Instructional Designer, you will create and maintain training content for Brivo's customers and employees. You will assist in the assessment of training needs, and create learning content that supports business growth. A cover letter and portfolio is required to apply to this position.
Our Instructional Designer will also:
  • Assist in the execution of the entire ADDIE course creation lifecycle for elearningcontent:
    • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across different departments to determine needs
    • Partner with other teams to ensure content is technically accurate and relevant
    • Create detailed and clear storyboards utilizing AI tools
    • Design and develop engaging and practical learning content (e-learning, instructional videos, microlearning) using various authoring tools
    • Create objective-aligned knowledge checks to measure learner ability to apply key concepts
    • Iteratively review and update content in a timely manner using learner feedback and product launch details
    • Launch and manage content in our learning management system (LMS)
  • Support regular updates and maintenance of existing courses
  • Utilize AI to write engaging content, including stories and use cases, that will be used to create immersive e-learning experiences
  • Proactively research and adapt to trends, quickly learning new features and tools to ensure learning programs remain modern and effective
  • Work independently and with outstanding communication skills to set and meet quarterly objectives and deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Training & Enablement (T&E) team to organize content within shared workspaces
  • Utilize Generative AI tools to scale content creation, enhancing everything from scriptwriting and use-case development to course summaries and assessments
  • Support additional T&E initiatives as needed, in a helpful spirit of collaboration

About You
  • Knowledge of Articulate Rise and Storyline required
  • Knowledge of Camtasia or similar tool for video creation and editing required
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, time management, communication, and attention to detail required
  • Proven experience in creating engaging and practical learning using industry-standard methodologies required
  • Ability to translate complex concepts and data into visually appealing, easily digestible content required
  • Proven experience in delivering multi-modal trainings, detailed course design documents, implementation strategies, and program evaluations required

Preferred skills
  • Experience utilizing ADDIE preferred
  • Experience with LMSs (such as LearnUpon) preferred
  • Ability to conduct and analyze results of a needs and/or gap analysis preferred
  • Experience in technology or security industry preferred
  • Experience using Asana or similar project management system preferred
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field preferred
  • Experience with Google Suite and Apple products preferred
  • Experience with creating learning videos and animations preferred

Compensation for this full-time position ranges from $67K - $78K USD. Individual compensation packages are based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, training, and market conditions.
