Job description

Fire Protection Sales/Project Manager

We are seeking a Fire Protection Sales/Project Manager candidate who is well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines from bid stage through project completion within budget. This individual will have an analytical mind, great organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and previous construction industry experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and field technicians to determine the specifications of the project
  • Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications to develop bids for projects
  • Schedules and facilitates meetings with clients, site managers and field personnel
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle project scope and deadlines
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of and collaborate with field technicians and provide guidance when necessary
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues to trade partners and management

Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in construction.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material and project management principles.
  • Three to five years’ experience in the fire protection industry is preferred but not required.
