Job description

This role is responsible for managing new equipment sales projects. Sales Project Managers serve as the project point person, ensuring quality, on time delivery within budget, and meeting or exceeding our customer's expectations.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support for activities related to new equipment sales.

  • Work closely with the New Equipment sales team to understand the scope of work.

  • Provide administrative support and work/cost estimates as may be required to the sales team.

  • Review sales contracts to ensure correctness of technical specifications and appropriateness of commercial terms.

  • Upon assignment of a project, utilize the software available to establish budget, issue purchase orders requests and monitor project financials.

  • Select vendors and issue purchase orders based on quality, compliance with customer's specifications, price, and availability.

  • Act as primary liaison between Company and customer for duration of the project. Coordinate materials delivery and production scheduling; expedite as needed to meet schedules, arrange for shipment.

  • Ensure quality control by requesting factory test reports and Operation and Maintenance manuals from the manufacturer. Work with customer to coordinate all on site activities including manpower, subcontractors, testing, and inspections as applicable, arrange for shop tests, site tests and training as needed. Include all details in the job description work order so it is clearly communicated to the Service department.

  • Maintain oversight control of all assigned projects. Aid and guide field employees as appropriate. Assist with final acceptance and turnover of projects to the customer.

  • Maintain and provide documentation to customers as applicable to work scope and contract requirements.

  • Close out projects, including cost/profit calculations and invoice preparation.

  • Participate in ongoing education and training to keep up with current technology and products we sell.

  • Clearly understand and document customers' definition and expectation of quality and cascade to operations and program team members.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Four (4) years' experience in project management or project coordination.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to work with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional, and flexible;

  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills;

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;

  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment;

  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must be able to travel locally when necessary. Will not exceed 10%

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

  • Ability to create realistic estimates

  • Project plan and milestone development skills with an ability to create comprehensive timelines, budgets, and status documents

  • Ability to ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
