Landscape / Outdoor Maintenance Crew Member

Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN

Position Summary

Join the team at River Heights Outdoor Solutions, one of the premier landscape companies in the Twin Cities. We are seeking dependable, hard-working team members who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

This role may support both landscape installation and outdoor maintenance services. Team members help with a wide range of duties including landscape construction, lawn and bed maintenance, seasonal clean-ups, and snow removal. No experience is required for the right candidate who is ready to work hard and learn. Previous landscaping or outdoor maintenance experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of landscaping and outdoor maintenance tasks as part of a crew
  • Install mulch, complete edging, assist with seeding, and support paver installation
  • Perform routine lawn maintenance, including mowing and edging
  • Trim and shape trees, bushes, and hedges
  • Plant and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and other landscape materials
  • Mulch and weed flower beds
  • Operate hand tools and small equipment such as shovels, rakes, compactors, and wheelbarrows
  • Operate commercial landscape equipment safely and responsibly
  • Remove debris and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in seasonal spring and fall clean-ups
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Foreman and crew members to complete daily goals
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards
  • Assist with winter snow removal work as needed
  • Participate in paid training and ongoing skill development
  • Support other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; previous landscape, construction, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices is a plus
  • Understanding of safe work practices
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate commercial landscape equipment
  • Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn new skills
  • Ability to take instruction and consistently produce quality results
  • Strong customer service mindset and professionalism
  • Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
  • Available to work Monday through Friday, occasionally weekends.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more consistently
  • Ready to work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Able to maintain a consistent track record of reliability and performance

Physical Requirements

  • Able to remain on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, and carry objects short distances
  • Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Able to twist the body repeatedly while shoveling, raking, lifting, and performing other physical tasks
  • Must be able to push a wheelbarrow weighing up to 200 pounds
