Job description

Description

The Spotted Trotter is a wholesale manufacturing and butcher shop -- NOT A RESTAURANT.

We are looking for someone to work in our Retail Shop and/or at our outdoor weekend Farmers Markets selling our beautiful sausages and salamis made in our USDA certified, small facility in the heart of Atlanta.

Cross-training catering, production, and service opportunities are also available for those who want to increase their knowledge base and get promoted. Working in our Retail Shop and our outdoor, weekend Farmers Markets can be FULL-TIME or PART-TIME work. This ad is for those applicants who are interested in working at both. If you are only interested in the Farmers Market or Retail work separately, please still apply and note that in your initial communications.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF!  We promote from within, we pay above market, and for those employees working a full-time schedule, after 90 days of full time employment, we offer dental and vision coverage at 75% paid, STD, LTD, and Life Insurance at 100% paid, and we have a 401k with a 4% company match with immediate vesting affter 1 year of employment. We also provide a monthly Retail Stipend for each full-time employee to use in our Butcher Shop ($100 for single employees / $200 for married employees or employees living with their children). If that wasn't enough, 6 paid holidays, 4 paid sick/personal days, and a generous vacation package are available for full-time schedules. What other small business is doing that?!?

We work hard but have a great time doing it. We are seeking go-getters, who are clean and organized, but above all have great attitudes and take pride in what they do. We are looking for a hardworking, organized, qualified person that loves the local food community and is looking for a top paying position within a growing company. This position will include hands-on development at one of the best charcuterie and cheese shops in the country!

Requirements

The Farmers Market & Retail Associate is a key part of The Spotted Trotter customer experience, serving as both an in-shop team member and a representative of the brand out in the community.

This role combines customer service, sales, and hands-on product work. You'll guide customers through our full range of products, including charcuterie, fresh cuts, and prepared items-while also actively cutting, portioning, and handling meat for retail and market sales. At farmers markets, this position takes on a more independent, fast-paced role: setting up, selling, and breaking down a full market booth while creating an engaging and efficient customer experience.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with food, is comfortable handling meat, and can move seamlessly between production, sales, and customer interaction.
