Job description

Amundsen Sports is a Norwegian outdoor apparel brand rooted in the spirit of exploration and inspired by the legacy of polar explorer Roald Amundsen. Founded in Oslo by Jørgen Amundsen and Erik Friis in 2010, the company blends traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship with modern innovation to create timeless, durable clothing and gear designed for adventure and everyday life. Embracing the Norwegian concept of friluftsliv—a deep connection with nature—Amundsen focuses on high-quality materials, responsible production, and products that perform anywhere from mountains and fjords to city streets.

The Role

You are the lead ambassador for our Boulder Flagship. You will be responsible for delivering a retail experience that is as elevated as our products. This role requires a sophisticated sales leader who can transition seamlessly from discussing technical fabric specs to curating a premium wardrobe for a premium customer.

Key Responsibilities

· Sales Leadership:

  • Be present in the store five days per week to create an elevated customer experience, drive sales performance, and build strong customer relationships.
  • Convert visitors into customers and ensure a flawless end-to-end experience.
  • Own total store revenue performance and monthly sales targets.
  • Build and maintain a client book of top customers.
  • Monitor and actively manage KPIs, including conversion rate, average transaction value, and units per transaction.
  • Build, maintain and lead a sales organization
  • Lead and manage part-time store staff.
  • Plan and communicate staffing schedules to ensure optimal coverage at all times.
  • Train and develop staff in product knowledge and premium selling techniques.

Store Presentation & Standards:

  • Ensure excellence in visual merchandising and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a consistently “showroom-ready” store environment.
  • Buying and inventory management:
  • Select the right products and quantities for each season.
  • Manage replenishment proactively to avoid missed sales opportunities.
  • Oversee product returns from both the store and Nordstrom Marketplace, in coordination with HQ in Norway.
  • · Event Coordination: Present ideas and ways to execute on community events that bring people into the shop.

Operational Excellence:

  • Manage the store P&L and key performance metrics.
  • Oversee scheduling, receiving, stock organization, replenishment, and all back-of-house operations with the same rigor applied to the sales floor.

Who You Are

  • The Premium Professional: You have 5+ years of management experience in luxury or high-end outdoor retail. You understand that "selling" at this level is about building long-term relationships and offering expert-led consultations.
  • The Detail Specialist: You have an "eye" for aesthetics. You understand how lighting, texture, and product placement tell a story.
  • The Boulder Insider: You are plugged into the local outdoor and social scene. You know where the community gathers and how to bring them into the fold.
  • The Amundsen Spirit: You value timeless quality over fast fashion. You are adventurous, refined, and driven.
  • Community Architect: Boulder is our backyard. You will build a local "tribe" by hosting mountain-side activations, après-style gatherings, and brand partnerships that cement Amundsen as a community pillar.

What We Offer

· Competitive Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (Commensurate with experience).

· Performance Incentives: A robust bonus structure tied to store growth and KPI excellence.

· The Wardrobe: A generous seasonal clothing allowance to ensure you lead the team in our signature "Rugged Luxury" style.

· Benefits: Comprehensive health, 401k.

  • To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your experience in retail and why you’re the right fit for the Boulder community
