Job description

Position Summary...This role is accountable for all transportation related administrative functions for their reporting site. This position is responsible for managing the overall performance of inbound and outbound freight by maximizing the use of all fleet and carrier vehicles in order to provide an on-time, cost-effective service to the customer. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating all activities related to the flow of freight. This position needs to work closely with the site General Manager, stores, and the national inbound team.What you'll do...

1.Supervises and leads a team of salaried and hourly personnel 24/7.
2.Monitors inbound and outbound trailer delivery schedules to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in and out of the trailer yard.
3.Investigates, tracks, and reports on problem freight claims and receiving errors on a daily basis. Provides management with recommendations on the reduction of problem freight occurrences.
4.Ensures that appointment bookings adhere to established procedures and hold carriers accountable to on time service.
5.Responds to client and carrier inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
6.Accountable for store service and on time delivery across the region for the site they lead. This includes selecting the appropriate carrier to balance costs and service.
7.Plans and schedules team members to ensure proper staffing for all shifts.
8.Accountable for their transportation budget for their site.
