Job description

As the Operations Manager you will spearhead our Industrial Services Team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in our organization's success. This dynamic position offers a balance of office and site-based responsibilities, with the specific mix tailored to current project demands. This role is located in Prince George, BC.


  • Health & Safety: Ensure Health and Safety remains the top priority by adhering to all company policies and safe work practices.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage union and non-union direct reports by monitoring daily activities, delegating duties effectively during work execution, and providing ongoing coaching.

  • Field Oversight: Spend significant time in the field to guarantee customer satisfaction, maintain high professional standards, and ensure safe job execution in line with company practices and client expectations.

  • Site Inspections & Resource Planning: Perform job site walks with internal teams to verify that adequate labor, equipment, and material resources are allocated.

  • Asset Management: Ensure assets are maintained according to preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and maintain accurate inventory controls.

  • Financial Management: Assist with annual budget preparation, re-forecasting updates, and regular P&L reviews. Develop and implement programs to optimize equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and material costs.

  • Bidding & Estimating: Help develop job bids, project costing, and statements for client review.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HSE, administrative, and shutdown planning teams to effectively coordinate resources, major project scopes, and turnarounds.

  • Client Relations & Growth: Build strong customer relationships through regular updates, troubleshooting, and follow-up meetings. Identify potential new clients and expansion opportunities with existing accounts.

  • Documentation & Quality Control: Oversee pre-job mobilization and demobilization. Ensure all daily operational documentation is submitted clear, concise, and complete.

  • Incident Response: Promptly report all work-related accidents or incidents and actively participate in incident investigations.

Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership or project management experience in Industrial Cleaning or a related field. Hands-on experience with high-pressure water jetting tools is strongly preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of oil, gas, and pulp mill process facilities and applicable cleaning methodologies.

  • Client Network: Existing strong customer relationships within the industry.

  • Operational Skills: Proven ability to supervise execution plans, develop job scopes, cost projects, and build detailed schedules and method statements.

  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborating with, inspiring, and managing diverse teams.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

  • Work Style: Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills; comfortable adapting to fast-paced, high-pressure environments with minimal supervision.
