Job description

George Fox University's Doctor in Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is seeking adjunct instructor(s) to teach in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters and the possibility to teach in subsequent semesters. He/She will also teach OTD courses in the curriculum and will ensure the OTD program's compliance with ACOTE accreditation and capstone requirements. This individual works closely with the other department faculty and reports directly to the OTD Program Director.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with ACOTE capstone requirements.
  • Manage and teach OTD and capstone courses and engage in scholarship, and service activities for the Institution.
  • Demonstrate professional skills and interactions that support the mission and vision of the OTD program and the university
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • The successful candidate will possess a Doctoral degree from a USDE-recognized accredited program and be a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Oregon, with a minimum of three years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Prior or current experience as full time or adjunct faculty (preferred).
  • Experience in Pediatrics and Adult Physical Dysfunction clinical experience (preferred).
  • Experience with ACOTE accreditation process and innovation with the hybrid educational model (preferred).
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
