Origination Manager

Must be able to attend an office 3days/wk - 52 locations across the US

Initial 12mth contract, with potential of extensions

We are seeking a skilled Origination Manager to become an integral part of our clients Global Energy Team, specifically the Energy Solutions - Americas division. In this role, you will support the origination and development of front-of-the-meter distributed solar and energy storage opportunities across our client's real estate portfolio.

You will work cross-functionally with development, finance, legal, execution, and asset management teams to help advance strategic energy projects that support clean energy growth objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Market Research: Monitor wholesale power markets, renewable energy markets, utility IRPs, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in key energy markets (WECC, PJM, MISO, Southeast)
  • Origination: Source and evaluate RFPs and other bilateral opportunities for the client's project portfolio, including utility, corporate, or data center offtake.
  • Bid Submission Preparation: Support the preparation and coordination of RFP submissions, including organizing bid materials, tracking deadlines, and compiling required documentation
  • Coordinate Internal Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to help advance projects through the origination pipeline.
  • Manage Pipeline Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project opportunities, submissions, and commercial activity to support consistent tracking and reporting processes.
  • Support Customer Engagement: Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and other commercial materials for customers and counterparties.
  • PPA negotiations: Support negotiations of customer agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Perform Market and Commercial Analysis: Monitor price comps from executed PPAs and other market intelligence sources, to help identify market opportunities.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, energy or environmental science, engineering or similar preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience - including experience with Utility RFP (preferably)
  • Must have worked with navigating utilities - not behind meter or commercial solely, must have in front of meter project work.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic understanding of solar, storage and distributed energy markets
  • Experience with relevant tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce and Smartsheet is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity
  • Motivated by curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Creative mindset and openness to tackling new challenges
  • Collaborative team player with a supportive approach
