Job description
Piper Maddox is partnered with a major energy portfolio management company who are looking to add a Manager of Power Fundamentals to their team in Jacksonville, Florida. If you are looking for a position with direct commercial impact and cross-functionality, apply below!
Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive fundamental analysis across multiple power markets, demonstrating deep expertise in the short- and long-term drivers of price formation.
- Develop and enhance fundamental models to forecast resource stack dynamics, reserve margins, and power prices.
- Use modeling to perform risk and scenario analysis and evaluate trading strategies.
- Proactively monitor forward and historical pricing, congestion patterns, changes in resource stack, load, utility IRPs, equity earnings, and regulatory developments—integrating evolving market intelligence directly into models and fundamental views.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in power market focused role
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering, finance, economics, business, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of energy and transmission markets, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear, commercially relevant insight.
- Knowledge across multiple U.S. power markets
