Job description

Job Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Administrative & Organizational Support)
Location: New York, NY 10013
Employment Type: Part-time (10-12 hours/week, 2-3 days per week)
Schedule: Monday/Tuesday & Friday, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, with some flexibility for travel prep and occasional extended hours.
Compensation: $40-45/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation (valid driver's license and ability to use family vehicle preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Key Responsibilities
Household Management & Organization
  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
  • Light tidying (surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas, occasional dishes)
  • Packing/unpacking for travel (including car)
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, dรฉcor, bedding)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation & resale drop-offs
  • Event/holiday/travel/guest prep
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, etc.
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Calendar management (including household schedules)
  • Comfort making calls and sending emails on behalf of family to coordinate as-needed administrative tasks
  • Managing family forms/paperwork, including:
    • Getting forms from doctor for school, camp, and other activities
    • Submitting insurance reimbursement paperwork
  • Receipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred as house manager
  • Event and appointment coordination
  • Travel planning and logistics
  • Assist with payroll
Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Instacart)
  • Grocery shopping as needed
  • Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Mail and package handling
  • Breakdown boxes
Special Projects
  • Organizational projects (toys, gear, closets, pantry)
