Job description

The Oracle Cloud Financials Business Analyst serves as the key liaison between Finance and IT to support, enhance, and optimize Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials. This role requires deep functional knowledge of General Ledger (GL), Business Units, and Accounts Payable (AP) at a minimum, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable configurations, reports, and operational support processes.

Our IS Business Analyst (Oracle):
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements for GL, Business Units/enterprise structures, and AP processes; translate requirements into functional solutions and user stories.
  • Support and enhance Oracle Cloud Financials configurations using Functional Setup Manager (FSM) in alignment with governance standards.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues, analyze root causes, and coordinate resolution with technical teams, integration partners, and Oracle Support as needed.
  • Support month-end/quarter-end close activities, including issue triage, reconciliation support, and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of developing and maintaining reports and extracts using OTBI and BI Publisher; validate totals and reconcile results to the General Ledger.
  • Manage data activities including FBDI/ADFdi/spreadsheet loader imports and mass maintenance; diagnose and resolve data load errors.
  • Partner with integration teams to support inbound/outbound interfaces (banking/payment files, upstream procurement systems, downstream reporting/warehouse, etc.).
  • Participate in quarterly Oracle Cloud release readiness by reviewing release impacts, supporting regression testing, and coordinating UAT with Finance users.
  • Create and maintain documentation (process flows, requirements, configuration notes, test scripts, training/job aids, and runbooks).
  • Support end-user training, communications, and adoption for new functionality and process changes.
  • Knowledge of other Financial ERP packages such as Infor is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Analyst supporting ERP financial processes preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Oracle Cloud (Fusion) Financials experience with demonstrated GL and AP depth is required.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials is required. E
  • Experience with the General Ledger and Procure to Pay modules is highly preferred.

Oracle Cloud Financials Skills
  • Deep functional expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials with demonstrated strength in GL and Procure to Pay (Supplier Portal, Procurement and AP); enterprise structures/Business Units expertise required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, subledger-to-ledger flow, and financial controls.
  • Experience supporting approvals/workflows, close cycles, and operational finance processes.
  • Participate in scheduling and regression testing P2T's (Prod to Test) refreshes and coordinating with the Finance users.

Reporting, Data & Technical Skills
  • OTBI and BI Publisher reporting experience (build/modify, filtering, prompts, reconciliation to GL).
  • Data load and mass update experience using FBDI, ADFdi, and spreadsheet loaders; ability to interpret load errors and data validations.
  • Integration literacy (file-based interfaces, REST/SOAP awareness); ability to partner effectively with middleware/integration teams.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for validation and troubleshooting (recommended).

Delivery & Soft Skills
  • Strong business analysis skills: facilitation, fit-gap, process mapping, and translating requirements into clear functional specifications.
  • Testing discipline: ability to execute and coordinate unit/regression/UAT testing and defect triage.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to work effectively with Finance leadership and end users.
  • Documentation rigor and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evergreen SaaS delivery model.
