Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager to patch and upgrade databases
Understand the patching process
o Help improve patching process
o Automate the patching process, if possible, to ease the burden moving forward
Patch and update around 100 database
Schedule downtime to minimize impact
Knowledge transfer
10 years of experience isn't a hard requirement, they just need a very senior resource that can start without ramp-up time and doesn't need any hand-holding.

Requirements for the Oracle consultant:

1. Should have 10 years Oracle support experience in a primary support role

2. Extensive experience applying Oracle maintenance and CPUs

3. Experience making maximum use of OEM (Cloud Control) features that assist with the patching process

4. Experience dealing with the demands of a critical production workload and minimizing the impact of Oracle database maintenance on it

5. Experience with patch automation

Expectations:

1. Identify and implement appropriate maintenance for our Oracle databases

2. Assist the DBA team with automating as much of the patching process as possible based on currently available tools

3. Work with application support groups to schedule patch implementation in such a way as to minimize disruption to production

4. Knowledge transfer to the DBA team concerning Oracle patching process
