Job Purpose and Overview
The Financial Analyst supports the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as the preparation of leadership reporting materials. This role manages key month-end activities, including Opex reviews with department leaders, North America Opex analysis, and collaboration with accounting to ensure accurate close, accruals, and policy compliance. Additionally, the analyst provides Oracle system support across the North America Finance team. The role drives improvements in FP&A processes, reporting tools, and workflows while mentoring Financial Analyst II.
Work Environment & Travel: This is a hybrid position reporting to the home office location in Jackson, Michigan. The successful candidate for this role will be expected to work on-site for a minimum of 1 day per week, and on an as needed basis with up to 10% travel.
What will you do as a Financial Analyst III at Dawn Foods?
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial data.
  • Complete month-end close responsibilities, including Opex analysis, managing and recording accruals, scorecard analysis, and supporting the preparation of leadership materials.
  • Produces SNAP reporting, including file creation and variance analysis for leadership.
  • Supports budget and forecasting processes, including Opex, Depreciation, and intercompany margin, and supports the preparation of leadership materials.
  • Serves as a strategic business partner for R&D with partial support for other departments, providing financial guidance, challenging assumptions, and supporting decision making.
  • Provide support for Oracle financial systems, including troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Strengthens FP&A processes by enhancing reporting templates and planning tools, and streamlining workflows to enable faster, more accurate planning cycles and month-end closes.
  • Support monthly Balance Sheet reviews, ensuring accuracy, timely completion, thorough variance investigation and resolution, proper documentation, and adherence to company policies and internal controls.
  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
  • Performs analyses that vary in nature to present solutions and results for Dawn's finance work, projects, and initiatives.
  • Takes initiative and executes under supervision to achieve task, department, or Company objectives.
  • Demonstrate the "Dawn Values" of Team Dawn and support the Dawn Circle of Excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Does It Take to be a Financial Analyst III at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in both accounting and financial analysis is required.
  • SAP information system experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Oracle experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • A working knowledge of accounting practices, policies, and procedures in compliance with GAAP, sound internal controls, and close software preferred.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership throughout Dawn. This position must be seen by other Team Members as a knowledgeable business partner.

Compensation
The base salary range is $80,330-$125,320 with bonus eligibility.
