Recreational Assistant


Optima Care at the Fountains, a 330 bed-skilled care and behavioral health facility in Secaucus New Jersey, seeks a full-time Recreational Assistant.


The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising recreational activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for participants of all ages.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and Leading Activities: Organize and conduct a variety of recreational programs, including sports, arts and crafts, and special events to engage community members.

  • Supervision: Ensure the safety of participants during activities, providing guidance and discipline as needed.

  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain and inspect recreational facilities and equipment to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for use.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to participants, addressing any issues that arise and fostering a positive environment.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and incidents, and assist in the promotion of recreational programs.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school degree or equivalent and certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the Center

  • Full command of the English language

  • Excellent multi-tasking and communication skills

  • Positive attitude and have great interaction with everyone from residents to the general public

  • Comfortable working both as an individual contributor and part of a larger team
