Location: Jersey City, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time 9AM-5PM
Salary: $45โ€“$50 per hour

Registered Dietitian โ€“ Join Our Team!

Optima Care Harborview is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide medical nutrition therapy, develop individualized diet plans, and educate residents on healthy lifestyle choices.

This role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering resident-centered care within a skilled nursing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food service activities with nursing, environmental services, social services, and activities departments.

  • Ensure menus, therapeutic diets, and food service procedures comply with physician orders and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in state and federal surveys and assist with implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records related to dietary services and resident care.

  • Oversee food service staff to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency in dietary operations.

  • Develop, review, and implement dietary plans of care using the Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS).

  • Attend facility committees and departmental meetings as required.

  • Assess residents' dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional risks.

  • Provide nutritional education to residents and their families.

  • Ensure substitute meals of equal nutritional value are offered when residents refuse meals.

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold residents' rights at all times.

Qualifications
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in New Jersey.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred.

  • Knowledge of diet therapy, food service management, cost control, and nutrition best practices.

  • Experience with SigmaCare and GeriMenu systems preferred.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
