Come Join Our Team! We are a fun fast paced Ophthalmology practice looking for a service oriented Front Desk Clerk! This person must be able to speak Spanish and English both !

We are a premier and comprehensive eyecare and surgery center with offices located in Chula Vista, National City, El Cajon, El Centro, Escondido and Temecula. Our Clinics are beautifully positioned with all new and modern equipment. Our group of Physicians are highly educated and skilled in Ophthalmology - we are blessed to be able to offer such high-quality ophthalmology services to patients in need.

We have an immediate need for a dynamic Front Office Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the front office activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in an administrative role with strong computer proficiency, and customer service.

Summary:

The Front Office Clerk is responsible for greeting and registering patients as well as administrative tasks, including but not limited to filing, answering phones, organizing documents, scheduling and following up on appointments in a professional and timely manner. Must be service oriented, and comfortable with multi-tasking. Will contribute to the team as necessary to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome people as they enter the clinic.
  • Communicate anticipated wait times and/or delays.
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person, via phone or by email.
  • Check-in patients (including verification of demographic and insurance information).
  • Complete patient registration from walk-in patients.
  • Collect all patient out of pocket responsibilities (i.e., deductibles, copays, co-insurance, etc.).
  • Schedule next appointment for patients at check out.
  • Assist as needed in obtaining missing/ additional information from patients.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute deliveries.
  • Answer incoming calls and perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful.
  • Keep the patient at the center of everything that you do.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Bilingual Spanish and English required
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Receptionist/Front Office Clerk, medical office experience highly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. Computers, phones, printers, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public and medical personnel.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer service attitude.
