Job description

Job Title: Loan Operations Senior Supervisor - NYR

Department: OP - Loan Operations

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Loan Operations Manager

Summary/Objective:

Responsible for the administration and daily operations of the Loan Operations Department, including processing loan and credit-related transactions, maintaining loan records, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting Treasury Operations activities, and coordinating with Head Office on core system enhancements. Provides operational leadership, staff training, and departmental oversight to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant processing of loan and treasury transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Department Manager with daily operational functions and departmental administration.
  • Supervise Loan Operations staff and workflow in the Manager's absence.
  • Train new employees and cross-train backup team members.
  • Perform escrow analysis and administration, including coordinating with LERETA to ensure the timely and accurate disbursement of property taxes and insurance premiums, reconciling escrow accounts, resolving escrow-related exceptions, and maintaining compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Prepare/reconcile month-end reporting, including mortgage and Fannie Mae reporting requirements.
  • Review incoming correspondence and loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Head Office on core system upgrades, enhancements, and testing.
  • Process loan transactions, including:
    • New loan disbursements
    • Lines of credit advances
    • Construction loan advances
    • Loan payments
  • Maintain loan records and files, including:
    • Interest rate changes
    • Loan extensions
    • Address updates
    • ORE (Other Real Estate) accounts
    • Non-accrual loans and charge-offs
  • Respond to inquiries regarding syndicated loans from business teams and agent banks.
  • Monitor daily Loan Operations activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Process Treasury Operations transactions, including:
    • Trade and money market disbursements
    • Repayments
    • Interest rate maintenance through GMO
    • Brokered CD setup, maintenance, and fund transfers upon maturity
  • Ensure operational activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and banking practices.
  • Support the Department Manager with additional projects, assignments, and departmental initiatives as needed.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Work is completed in person in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to employees and supervisors is also required.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university.

Five to seven years of related experience and/or training.
