Job description

Operations Manager

Precision Manufacturing | Santa Rosa, CA | $100,000 – $140,000

About the Company

Our client is a growing, technology-driven manufacturer of high-precision products serving a global customer base. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, the company operates in a fast-paced environment where disciplined project execution directly drives customer satisfaction and revenue. This is a key leadership hire with broad visibility across the organization.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will serve as the internal execution hub for all customer orders — translating orders into structured project plans and driving cross-functional teams to deliver on time and in full. This role requires a disciplined planner and communicator who can manage multiple concurrent projects, anticipate obstacles, and keep stakeholders aligned from order receipt through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans for each customer order, defining milestones, resource requirements, and delivery timelines

• Serve as the central coordinator across production, procurement, quality, and customer service to ensure all workstreams stay on schedule

• Proactively identify risks to delivery timelines and lead resolution efforts before they impact the customer

• Maintain real-time visibility into order status across all active projects; provide accurate, timely updates to internal and external stakeholders

• Facilitate regular cross-functional project reviews, driving accountability and decision-making at the right levels

• Build and refine scalable project management processes, tools, and templates to support growing order volume

• Track and report on key delivery metrics including on-time performance, cycle time, and project completion rates

• Collaborate with sales and customer service to align on lead times, manage expectations, and communicate changes proactively

• Manage handoffs between internal teams, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks between order acceptance and shipment

• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing lead times and increasing operational predictability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations or project management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or precision products environment

• Proven ability to plan and manage multiple concurrent projects from initiation through completion

• Strong command of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar)

• Experience working cross-functionally with production, procurement, quality, and sales teams

• Data-driven mindset with experience building and tracking operational KPIs and delivery metrics

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and interfacing with customers

• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, or similar) for order and project tracking

• PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $100,000 – $140,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance

• 401(k) with company match

• Paid time off and company holidays

• Opportunity to build and lead a scalable operations function in a high-growth environment

Location: North Bay, CA (on-site)
