Operations Manager (Bilingual)

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Salary: $95k-$110k (dependent on experience)

For over 40 years our client has served as North America's premier certified multi-line stainless steel distributor for the food, chemical, steel fabrication, and architectural industries.

They are currently looking for an Operations Manager for the Montreal Branch. It is a well-established role and you will be responsible for all the functioning of the building, warehouse, logistics, facilities and equipment and you will report directly to Head Office.

Direct reports to this role include:

Plant Manager, QA co-ordinator, Reception/admin/credit

You will have direct contact with all employees at this location.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations of Plant/Branch
  • Develops knowledge of customer applications of the products, current needs and future trends
  • Responsible to follow process related instructions, procedures and requirements
  • Understands lead times and processing capabilities and limitations, machine efficiencies and costing
  • Communicates company's credit policies and follows credit procedures when processing orders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OMNI
  • Communicates Branch happenings effectively to Head Office
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Professional interaction with Executive and Senior leadership team, employees, customers and vendors
  • WHMIS training is required
  • HR/Quality/Safety Orientation is required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Operations Management
  • Strong written and oral communication in both English and French
  • Excellent supervisory and team building skills
  • Working in an ISO environment is a plus
  • Ability to professionally and calmly interact with Executive Management, Supervisory personnel and employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OMNI
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • College/University degree is an asset but not necessary
