The HR Generalist II supports the Human Resources Business Partner in executing people strategies and administering HR programs for the ATL Distribution Center and/or assigned locations. This role serves as a trusted point of contact for team members and leaders, providing practical guidance on HR policies, employee relations, staffing, onboarding, compliance, performance management, leave administration, and other people-related matters.
This position requires strong judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to balance business needs, team member experience, and compliance requirements. The HR Generalist II is expected to build effective relationships, identify workforce trends and risks, and support initiatives that strengthen retention, engagement, leadership effectiveness, and operational performance.
This position is on-site. Regular and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of the role.
โ€ข Provides day-to-day HR support across multiple functional areas including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, compliance, and HR operations.
โ€ข Serves as a primary point of contact for team member and leader questions regarding HR policies, procedures, programs, and workplace expectations.
โ€ข Supports employee relations matters by conducting intake, gathering facts, documenting findings, supporting investigations, recommending appropriate next steps, and escalating matters as needed.
โ€ข Provides guidance to leaders on performance management, corrective action, documentation, attendance concerns, workplace conduct, and application of company policies.
โ€ข Supports recruiting and onboarding activities to help ensure a consistent, timely, and positive candidate and new hire experience.
โ€ข Assists with administration of leave of absence programs, including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA accommodation processes, and workers' compensation coordination, in partnership with appropriate internal and external resources.
โ€ข Processes and audits personnel transactions and maintains accurate, timely, and compliant team member records.
โ€ข Partners with leaders to identify workforce challenges and recommend practical HR solutions related to staffing, retention, engagement, attendance, productivity, and team member relations.
โ€ข Collects, reviews, and analyzes HR data to identify trends, support decision-making, and inform recommendations related to workforce planning, turnover, engagement, compliance, and operational needs.
โ€ข Supports implementation of HR programs, communications, training, and initiatives that promote a respectful, inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplace.
โ€ข Ensures consistent application of company policies and supports compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
โ€ข Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when handling sensitive employee, business, and employment-related information.

Education / Experience
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
โ€ข 2-4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, logistics, retail, or other hourly workforce environment.
โ€ข Experience supporting employee relations, compliance, onboarding, HR operations, and leader coaching.
โ€ข HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
Knowledge
โ€ข Working knowledge of core HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, performance management, compliance, and talent processes.
โ€ข Understanding of applicable employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour, FMLA, ADA, EEO, workplace harassment, retaliation, and recordkeeping requirements.
โ€ข Ability to interpret policies, apply sound judgment, and provide practical guidance to team members and leaders.
โ€ข Familiarity with HR systems, applicant tracking systems, reporting tools, and basic workforce analytics.
โ€ข Understanding of the HR needs of an hourly, operations-focused workforce preferred.

The physical demands and work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role in an office and distribution center environment. This role will primarily work in an office setting but may be required to spend time on the distribution floor, in warehouse areas, or in other operational work areas.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The team member may occasionally be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role may involve exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and other conditions typical of a distribution or warehouse environment. Use of required personal protective equipment may be necessary when working in operational areas.
This is a full-time position. Expected travel is less than 10%.
