Job description

Regional Director of Operations - Veterinary

We are seeking a Regional Director of Operations to support a growing network of hospitals across Utah and Idaho for an exceptional veterinary organization. Reporting directly to the COO, this role oversees approximately 8–10 veterinary hospitals across two states (Utah & Idaho). This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected, culture-driven company where leadership genuinely values collaboration, mentorship, and long-term growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide operational leadership and strategic support to multiple veterinary hospitals
  • Partner closely with hospital leaders and veterinary teams to drive performance, culture, and engagement
  • Own full P&L oversight across the region (excluding rent/real estate responsibilities)
  • Support operational growth initiatives and help elevate hospital performance
  • Coach, mentor, and develop leaders across the organization
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and operational execution
  • Help create consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across all locations

Ideal Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a proven operations leader with strong experience in multi-site leadership and supporting growing organizations. This person understands how to balance operational performance with team development, culture, and strong partnerships with clinical staff.

Top qualities we are seeking include:

  • Veterinary or pet healthcare industry experience
  • Multi-site operational leadership experience
  • Experience supporting or launching denovo locations

Additional strengths include strong P&L ownership, the ability to coach and develop leaders, and a collaborative leadership style built on communication, accountability, and relationship-building.

Leaders from other multi-unit industries (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, or service-based industries) may also be considered if they have a strong track record partnering closely with clinical teams and leading high-performing multi-site operations.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated operations leader looking to join a company where culture matters just as much as performance.

We are only considering candidates who live in Utah or Idaho, or willing to relocate upon start
