Position Summary

Our Operations Internship Program creates an opportunity for college students to gain practical hands-on experience while working in their course of study under the close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager. As an Operations Intern, you will learn to support the processes of our company as it relates to production goals and standards. Interns in this position will gain exposure to several aspects of our company including but not limited to: Safety, Aggregates, Asphalt, Concrete, Construction, QC, Sales and the application of regulatory standards in a dynamic industrial setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support our ethics, safety and operational standards.
  • Support operations with daily administrative tasks. 
  • Support front line operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Develop fundamental understanding of operations and build foundational skills in each line of business. 
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.   

Work Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions.

  • Currently enrolled in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related program from an accredited university.
  • Experience in aggregates or construction industries a plus.
  • Understanding of leadership skills and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to comprehend and communicate to others the requirements of technical specifications, regulations, reports, and manuals.
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong Computer Skills, specifically in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile.
  • Willingness to drive to our multiple sites across the Four Corners region with mileage reimbursement program.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
