Foster City, CA

Full-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

This role will develop creative solutions to accelerate the rollout of Zoox's operational and infrastructure footprint. You will define specific requirements for new sites and solutions, evaluate external partners to support staging, maintenance, and other operational tasks, and execute the end-to-end integration of these facilities into our network. You are responsible for the physical and procedural blueprint that allows Zoox to activate and expand new cities quickly alongside its partner network. By standardizing how we distribute and enable infrastructure with third-party service providers, you will directly increase our market entry speed and expansion. Your focus is on ensuring every new location is operationally ready to support autonomous fleet activity safely and at scale.
In this role, you will:
  • Define requirements and frameworks that enable Zoox to leverage strategic partnerships for rapid city deployments.
  • Drive flexible site developments with a focus on integration speed and growing service capabilities across the partner real estate network.
  • Spearhead joint development initiatives, serving as the primary operational link between external stakeholders and internal teams to ensure the seamless integration of new sites and infrastructure.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic external networks and partners to support specialized fleet requirements, driving expansion strategies that accelerate market entry/expansion speed.
  • Standardize operational execution by establishing scalable SOPs, allowing Zoox to replicate successful infrastructure models as we grow our geographic footprint.
  • Ensure long-term operational excellence across our partner network by implementing rigorous performance metrics and SLAs to guarantee safety, quality, and maximum fleet uptime.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations management, environmental studies, or equivalent.  6+ years of experience in operations strategy, joint development, or scaling physical infrastructure within mobility, logistics, or autonomous technology.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading complex operational integrations or strategic partnerships from ideation through successful launch.
  • Experience translating highly technical or specialized operational requirements into actionable deployment blueprints and performance SLAs.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment, specifically bridging the gap between external partners and internal operations, engineering, and product teams.
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to build quantitative operational models evaluating various scaling strategies and infrastructure investments.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, ride-hail, transportation, aerospace, airline operations, logistics, or other relevant mobility industries.
  • MBA or Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Operations Management, Operations Research, etc.).
  • Direct experience successfully scaling physical operations or launching new city markets for a technology-driven transportation network.
  • Deep understanding of autonomous vehicle fleet operational workflows (e.g., MRO, vehicle staging, data ingestion, recovery ops).
  • Formal project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or similar).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
