Job description

Job Description:

Mazama is looking for a technical generalist with an extreme eye for detail to sit at the intersection of our systems, our data, and our dev team. You'll administer platforms like our cloud dialer (JustCall), catch and fix bugs before they cost us leads, send and test things programmatically through our software via APIs, and watch the data closely enough to notice when something is quietly degrading.

This is not a narrow QA seat. One day you might be tracing why a lead never reached the dialer queue; the next, writing a script to bulk-update contacts through an API; the next, building a report to confirm whether answer rates actually dropped or just look like they did. You'll be the person who tests our processes the way a skeptic would — and who knows enough about how everything connects to fix what you find or hand the dev team a precise, reproducible diagnosis.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable across CRM, telephony, automation, data, and light infrastructure. In lieu of direct experience with our exact stack, we'll consider anyone who can show a track record of learning unfamiliar systems fast and following problems to the root.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Administer and configure operational systems — dialer campaigns, SMS setup, call routing, user management, and integrations in JustCall and adjacent platforms

  • Test processes end to end — when a new form, campaign, or automation ships, validate the full pipeline (form → API → CRM → automation layer → dialer → rep) before and after launch

  • Catch, reproduce, and triage bugs — write clear, reproducible bug reports; fix what's within reach (config, data, light scripting) and escalate the rest to the dev team with the diagnosis already done

  • Work programmatically with our systems — use REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and scripts (Python or TypeScript) to move data between platforms, run bulk operations, and verify data integrity across systems

  • Monitor for performance degradation — build and watch reports on key operational metrics (lead flow, contact rates, sync gaps, automation failures) and investigate anomalies before they become incidents

  • Reconcile data across systems — audit for gaps between the dialer, CRM, and analytics database (e.g., sales recorded in one system but missing in another) and drive fixes

  • Support the dev team — assist with testing deployments, validating data migrations, writing or reviewing automation scripts, and maintaining documentation

  • Learn our processes end to end and pitch in wherever the team needs help. Small team, no “not my job.”

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Must-haves:

  • Exceptional attention to detail — you notice the row that doesn't match, the metric that drifted 4%, the edge case nobody tested

  • Working technical fluency: comfortable with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON payloads, and reading/writing basic scripts (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar)

  • SQL proficiency — you can write your own queries to answer your own questions

  • Experience administering SaaS platforms (telephony/dialer, CRM, or similar operational tools)

  • A QA mindset: systematic testing, reproducible bug reports, “trust but verify” as a default posture

  • Strong analytical skills — you can look at operational data and distinguish signal from noise

  • Self-direction — you find problems without being assigned them, and you follow through

  • Resourcefulness — when you hit something unfamiliar, your first move is documentation, Google, or AI tools, not a teammate's calendar. You exhaust what you can figure out on your own, then ask sharp, specific questions

  • Retention — when someone answers a question or walks you through a process, it sticks. You take notes, build your own references, and rarely need the same thing shown twice

Nice-to-haves:

  • Cloud telephony platforms (JustCall, Aircall, Five9, Twilio, etc.)

  • Workflow automation tools (Windmill, n8n, Zapier, Make)

  • AWS (Lambda, S3, RDS) or Postgres administration

  • Call center, lead-gen, or high-volume sales operations environment

  • Telephony/SMS compliance concepts (TCPA, 10DLC)

  • BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Metabase)

What you get for being part of our ZamFam:

  • Medical, dental and vision healthcare plans

  • Front-loaded paid time off

  • Retirement savings plan

  • Flexible scheduling to take advantage of fresh powder mornings, sunny summer afternoons, and everything in between!

  • Dog-friendly office

  • Stocked kitchen with snacks and an espresso machine

  • “Bend-casual” attire

  • Sit-stand desks

  • Collaborative, social, open-architecture environment

  • Career & professional development — we're growing quickly and we love to promote from within so there are lots of opportunities to create your career path and expand your skills
