About the Hiring Group

Join RTI International's Global Human Resources team this summer for an immersive experience at the intersection of AI, HR strategy, and business impact, while gaining meaningful, real-world exposure across multiple HR disciplines. We are seeking two enthusiastic interns to join our HR team for a structured summer internship focused on exploring the role of AI in streamlining recruitment processes and enhancing candidate experience.

What You'll Do

Program Structure: Intern Pods & Rotations

Interns will work in a collaborative pod model, partnering closely with another intern to drive shared deliverables and cross-learning.

Throughout the internship, interns will rotate across three core HR functions to gain a holistic view of the employee lifecycle:

HR Systems: Exposure to systems, tools, and AI applications supporting HR operations.

Talent Acquisition Partnering: Direct experience with recruitment strategy, candidate experience, and hiring workflows.

HR Business Partnering: Insight into workforce planning, stakeholder support, and organizational strategy

Each rotation will include defined deliverables, mentorship, and opportunities to present insights back to HR leadership.

HR Resource and Enablement Hub

  • Help design a centralized resource for HR staff to support easier access to tools, guidance, examples, templates, and learning resources.
  • Organize content in a user-friendly structure that may include HR specific example prompts, tool guidance, process resources, FAQs, templates, learning materials, and practical use cases.
  • Identify what HR staff need to know about available tools, when to use them, and what types of information are appropriate to include in different systems or platforms.
  • Recommend the best format for the hub, such as OneNote, SharePoint, an internal site, or another accessible platform.
  • Develop recommendations for how the hub should be maintained, governed, and refreshed after the internship ends.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct research on the integration of AI in Human Resources, focusing on recruitment strategies and candidate engagement.
  • Analyze existing recruitment technologies and their impact on efficiency and candidate satisfaction.
  • Review case studies and industry trends to identify leading practices and actionable insights.

Project Development:

  • Collaborate within intern pods to produce a comprehensive report on AI applications in HR.
  • Develop and deliver presentations summarizing findings and strategic recommendations.
  • Create frameworks or tools to assess effectiveness of AI-driven recruitment solutions.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to optimize recruitment workflows and improve candidate experience.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies or tools.
  • Analyze feedback from candidates and hiring teams to propose enhancements.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Engage with HR Systems, Talent Acquisition Partner, and HR Business Partner teams during rotations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand real-world challenges and align solutions to business needs.
  • Participate in team discussions and contribute ideas on process and technology innovation.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the internship, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how AI and technology are applied across HR functions, particularly in recruitment and workforce planning.

Qualifications

  • Currently entering your Junior or Senior year pursuing a Bachelor's  degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Data Science, or related field.
  • Strong interest in HR, recruiting, and technology applications.
  • Familiarity with AI or data analytics concepts is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based (pod) environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
