Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Salesforce IT Manager / Architect to join our team in Durham, NC.
Location: Durham, NC
Applicants who live within 35 miles of Durham, NC will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in office days per week in Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position operating on a first-shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. This role follows a hybrid work model:
  • Onsite: Tuesday through Thursday in the Durham, NC office
  • Remote: Monday and Friday

Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in working hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.
Job Responsibilities
Architecture and Strategy
  • Define and lead the Salesforce enterprise architecture roadmap aligned to business objectives.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across Salesforce platforms including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, and Health Cloud.
  • Develop integration architectures using APIs, middleware, and event-driven patterns.
  • Ensure adherence to platform best practices, governance frameworks, and system limitations.

Leadership and Delivery
  • Lead and manage Salesforce engineering teams, including developers and technical contributors.
  • Oversee end-to-end solution delivery, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive Agile and Scrum practices to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Platform Governance and Optimization
  • Establish DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and release management standards.
  • Define and enforce data governance, security models, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization assessments.
  • Monitor and optimize platform usage, licensing, and cost efficiency.

Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, data, integration, and security teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical audiences.

Innovation and Transformation
  • Drive adoption of Salesforce capabilities including automation, AI, and platform enhancements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Lead large-scale digital transformation and platform modernization initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma with 17 or more years of information technology experience; or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 15 or more years of information technology experience; or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 13 or more years of information technology experience.
  • 8 or more years of experience designing and implementing Salesforce platform architectures.
  • 8 or more years of experience using Salesforce technologies including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative development tools.
  • 8 or more years of experience implementing integration patterns using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, or middleware platforms.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading software development teams or managing technical delivery.
  • 3 or more years of experience delivering enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations across multiple business functions.
  • 3 or more years of experience implementing data models, security frameworks, and sharing models within Salesforce.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and version control systems.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification.
  • Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with integration platforms such as Amazon API Gateway or Apigee.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Salesforce Industries (Vlocity), Marketing Cloud, or Data Cloud.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • 3 or more years of experience integrating data platforms, analytics systems, or machine learning solutions with enterprise applications.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or pharmaceuticals.
