We have been innovating for more than 80 years to help unlock possibilities for families, businesses and communities for generations. As a full-service entertainment provider, we deliver hometown service with the cutting-edge technology of the most connected cities. With Twin Valley, you can tap into the larger world with the most reliable connections, delivered at blazing speeds.
Join in on the Success
At Twin Valley, team members enjoy the core values of a multi-generational, family-run business, combined with the competitive pay and benefits of a leading broadband and communications company. We live, work and play in the communities we serve, and many of our employees grew up in rural Kansas. So we have a special bond with our customers and take pride in providing cutting-edge connectivity to our families, friends and neighbors. It's no wonder that Twin Valley keeps getting accolades, with recent "Best Places to Work" and "Business of the Year" awards!
What we are looking for:
As Operational Readiness Specialist, you play a central role in supporting organizational success by ensuring that Twin Valley's people have the tools, vehicles, inventory, facilities, equipment, and vendor support they need to perform their work safely, efficiently, and without avoidable delays. This role shifts the traditional inventory and fleet function towards a broader operational support model focused on coordinating resources, tracking readiness needs, and helping prevent avoidable disruptions. You support, coordinate, and maintain inventory, fleet, facilities, and purchasing readiness while contributing to proactive planning, process improvement, operational visibility, and technology adoption. As Twin Valley scales operations, expands fiber infrastructure, and invests in automation, you help the position scale efficiently-expanding business impact without proportionally increasing overhead-and generate long-term cost savings for the company.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operational readiness & planning
- Inventory & Warehouse Stewardship
- Fleet lifecycle & compliance
- Facilities readiness & inspections
- Purchasing & vendor coordination
- Process improvement and technology adoption
What you bring to the position:
- You embody and align with our core values and appreciate the strength and stability that comes from working with a values-based company. You appreciate the power and efficiency of consistency in the "ways" we operate.
- You embrace change and have the resilience required to continually improve yourself. You can think creatively and can adapt to evolving situations.
- You understand the need to collaborate with your team members and other departments and that synergy comes from everyone rowing in the same direction.
- You have a strong desire to provide customers with optimum technology solutions and exemplary customer service.
- You are a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute your plan and deliver on quarterly goals on a consistent basis.
- Keep warehouse inventory organized, clean, and accessible; issue inventory, tools, and equipment to staff and contractors.
- Utilize AI to automate inventory monitoring, reorder triggers, and demand forecasting-minimizing shortages, overstock, and manual counts.
- You take what you do seriously, but you do not take yourself seriously and you know how to have fun in a professional environment. You are humbly confident and use your knowledge to build confidence without being arrogant.
You successfully fulfill the following essential duties and responsibilities:
You utilize your ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
- Maintain readiness records, reports, dashboards, and key metrics to support operational visibility and planning. Utilize AI tools to automate readiness forecasting, demand planning, and reporting-proactively flagging resource gaps before they disrupt field operations.
- Complete and maintain documentation necessary to support requirements of the Kansas Department of Transportation and insurance providers.
- Track and report on fleet compliance and readiness metrics.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, price lists, and original specifications; sort and place items in the warehouse.
- Monitor inventory levels to help ensure materials and supplies are available for company operations; use available usage data and work schedules to identify potential shortages or overstock concerns. Maintain records on warehouse materials and conduct periodic inventories to monitor stock levels and determine purchasing needs.
- Purchase approved inventory within established budget authority; enter account codes on purchase requisitions, code invoices, coordinate return, and maintain related purchasing records.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and drive consistency and scalability across processes.
- Support the company by completing other duties as assigned
You use your COLLABORATIVE SKILLS:
- Coordinate day to day operational readiness activities to help employees, crews, and contractors have the resources needed to perform work without avoidable delays.
- Work with the Installation & Repair, Accounting, Operations and other departments to help resolve routine questions, provide updates, and support day-today operational readiness
- Communication with vendors and external service providers to obtain information, schedule approved work, follow up on open items, and support operational readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain current pricing, catalog information, product availability, delivery timelines, promotions and related inventory information. Assist with preparing bid specifications and requesting quotes or bids from suppliers for non-standard materials, supplies, equipment, or services; track purchased equipment and supplies.
- Compare vendor information, including pricing, availability, product quality, reputation, and delivery timeliness, and provide information or recommendations to the appropriate supervisor for review.
- Support the company by completing other duties as assigned.
You use your TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- This role supports the use of approved artificial intelligence (AI) tools by identifying recurring tasks or workflows that may be appropriate for automation and assisting with approved improvements that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and support efficiency across inventory, fleet, facilities, and purchasing functions.
- Monitor inventory, fleet, facility, and equipment needs in alignment with construction schedules, fiber expansion, and growth objectives.
- Identify potential readiness gaps and disruptions early, and develop mitigation plans before they impact field operations.
- Perform regular vehicle inspections; schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs; coordinate delivery and return of vehicles from maintenance locations; and maintain logs to support timely completion of maintenance.
- Manage the fleet lifecycle-acquisition planning, utilization, preventive maintenance, and resale/replacement decisions-to optimize cost and availability.
- Utilize AI to automate vehicle maintenance scheduling, inspection reminders, and compliance tracking, reducing manual logging and improving on-time completion
- Inspect buildings and grounds according to schedule; identify, schedule, and organize repairs to facilities.
- Maintain facilities in a state of operational readiness, coordinating preventive maintenance and vendor-performed work.
- Monitor open facility issues and provide updates on status, timing, and completion as requested. Utilize AI tools to automate inspection scheduling, work-order routing, and preventive maintenance tracking to keep facilities in a constant state of readiness.
- Keep warehouse inventory organized, clean, and accessible; issue inventory, tools, and equipment to staff and contractors.
- Utilize AI to automate inventory monitoring, reorder triggers, and demand forecasting-minimizing shortages, overstock, and manual counts.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory, fleet, facilities, and purchasing processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
- Adopt and leverage technology and automation to streamline transactional work and improve visibility into inventory, fleet, facilities, and purchasing activities.
- Identify routine tasks or recurring workflows that may benefit from automation or AI support; assist with testing, documenting, and using approved tools.
You use your CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS:
- Helping employees, crews, and contractors have the resources needed to perform work without avoidable delays
- Helping departments resolve routine questions and providing updates
- Providing facility status, timing, and completion updates as requested
- Issuing inventory, tools, and equipment to staff and contractors
- Communicating and following up with vendors and external service providers
As a successful employee, you will demonstrate the following professional skills as you carry out your position:
- Oral Communications - Speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations; respond well to questions; participate in meetings.
- Written Communications - Write clearly and informatively, edit work for spelling and grammar; read and interpret written information.
- Customer Service - Respond promptly and courteously to customers' requests for service and assistance.
- Ethics - Treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work with integrity and ethically; uphold company values.
- Organizational Support - Follow company policies and procedures and complete other duties as assigned.
- Judgment - Include appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Interpersonal Skills - Maintain confidentiality; keep emotions under control; listen well.
