Job description

Onsite IT Support Technician – Food Manufacturing

Schaumburg, IL Area (Western Chicago Suburbs)

About the Opportunity

A well-established food manufacturing company in the western suburbs of Chicago is seeking an Onsite IT Support Technician to support day-to-day technology needs across its U.S. operations. This role is focused on hands-on end-user support in a manufacturing/office environment, including workstations, laptops, printers, software troubleshooting, and coordination with remote IT resources. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact onsite, solving day-to-day technical issues, and helping support a growing operation. Over time, this role may expand in scope for the right person as the company continues to build out its U.S. footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for hardware, software, printers, laptops, and related end-user technology.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day technical issues for office and operational users.
  • Set up and configure user devices, workstations, and peripheral equipment.
  • Assist with deployments, installs, updates, and basic system access issues.
  • Coordinate with remote or global IT resources when escalation is needed.
  • Help maintain organized IT inventory, equipment tracking, and general support documentation.

Ideal Candidate

  • Prior experience in IT support, desktop support, service desk, or a similar hands-on technical support role.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing/office environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer support skills.
  • Able to manage routine support issues independently and know when to escalate.
  • Experience supporting end users with devices, software, printers, and common business systems.
  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Expected salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and professional development.
