Job description

OVERVIEW:

McKim & Creed is seeking an enthusiastic CAD Technician to provide technical AutoCAD Civil 3D support of water and wastewater infrastructure projects as part of a multi-discipline team to produce design/construction drawings and specifications.

DURING YOUR WORKDAY, YOU WILL:

  • Work in a project team setting and support the designers and engineers with development of drawing files.
  • Produce plans, profiles, cross-sections, elevations, structure sections, construction details, references, and perspective drawings.
  • Manage CAD drawing files for production, deliverables and archiving.
  • Prepare drawings for various members of the project team.
  • Coordinate with others outside of the project team as necessary for project development.
  • Balance multiple tasks on multiple projects.
  • Must be communicating with design team to complete work efficiently and on time.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 2- or 4-year degree in design related major.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Must be methodical, precise, and consistent but enjoy variety in work schedule and can tolerate change.
  • Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
  • Good technical skills required and willing to learn new software skills.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
  • Good communication skills required.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience working on water infrastructure projects (i.e. water distribution and wastewater collection/pumping projects).
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience in Bentley Microstation design software, such as OpenRoads Designer
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
