Job description

Retail Supervisor

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day retail store operations under the direction of the Store Manager and the Assistant Store Manager. This role provides direct supervision to frontline staff, ensures excellent customer service, maintains operational standards, and supports efficient merchandise flow using 1-Touch principles.

The Retail Supervisor acts as the on-duty leader during assigned shifts and in the absence of store management, ensuring safety, compliance, staff engagement, and speed-to-floor execution.

Leadership & Supervision
  • Supervise and direct assigned retail staff, including Customer Service Representatives, Sorters, Donation Center Attendants, and Retail Producers.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure performance expectations are met.
  • Assist with onboarding, training reinforcement, and mentoring of new employees.
  • Lead by example to promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
Retail Operations & Customer Service
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through active floor supervision and issue resolution.
  • Support point-of-sale operations and cash handling procedures as needed.
  • Maintain store appearance, merchandising standards, and cleanliness.
  • Monitor staffing coverage to ensure smooth daily operations.
DGR, 1-Touch & Merchandise Flow
  • Reinforce DGR optimization and 1-Touch practices among staff.
  • Monitor merchandise flow from donation intake through processing to sales floor.
  • Identify and address bottle necks impacting speed-to-floor.
  • Support pricing, staging, and replenishment priorities.
Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Monitor store activity to deter internal and external shrink.
  • Follow and enforce cash handling and banking procedures when assigned.
  • Report incidents, injuries, and safety concerns promptly.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Complete assigned paperwork and operational reports accurately.
  • Communicate operational issues and staffing concerns to store management.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
