Job Objective(s)
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the campus and ensuring that visitors, residents, families, and staff have a positive impression. Additional duties include cleaning of common areas, project cleaning and seasonal cleaning duties as assigned. Weekly cleaning & laundry in residentโs rooms.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
โข Provide consistent & quality work to the residents and staff
โข Maintain a clean and orderly work area and cleaning cart
โข Follow job routines and instructions according to the assigned housekeeping schedule.
โข Assure resident apartment is cleaned and sanitized as scheduled.
โข Maintain inventory for daily needs & notify supervisor of supply issues
โข Assist in keeping all common areas neat, clean and safe.
โข Follow the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner.
Cleaning duties includes but not limited to:
โข Vacuuming hallways, elevators and furniture
โข Washing inside glass doors and windows
โข Sweeping and/or mopping floors
โข Cleaning and stocking supplies in restroom
โข Dusting
โข Rubbish/trash removal
โข Washing / polishing woodwork and baseboards
โข Seasonal duties as assigned
Qualifications
โข Minimum 1 year housekeeping/cleaning experience
โข Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in the residentโs best interest.
โข Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
โข Ability to be flexible and to work with other staff and residents
โข Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
โข Good work ethic
โข Maintains confidentiality
โข Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.
Physical Requirements (based on essential responsibilities)
Must be able to frequently perform tasks such as, but not limited to, those listed below:
โข Bend and squat to the floor to pick up debris, trash containers, and to use cleaning tools and products, etc.
โข See objects within 35 feet to monitor work areas, i.e., determine areas that are in need of cleaning
โข Able to interpret colors to read warnings, labels, wires, etc.
Must be able to continuously perform tasks such as, but not limited to, those listed below:
โข Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
โข Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling to sweep, mop, use containers of cleaning solution/chemicals, etc.
โข Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects
โข Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
โข Speak clearly and make self understood in face-to-face interactions
โข See objects closely to read directions, instructions, chemical warnings, etc.
โข Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.
Environment
Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment majority of the time.
Working Hours
This is an on call position. Employee must have the ability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings and/or overnights.
