Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist the bartender(s) and cocktail staff in performance of their duties.
Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, during, and after shift.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times during shift including removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, picking up and dumping garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment, re-fill ice and beer bins, and utilize ice machines.
Maintain and organize bar.
Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner. Interact with the public and provide excellent guest service.
Know guidelines for serving alcohol with care.
Know and convey hotel activities to guests.
Maintain and organize bars and storerooms.
Refill chemicals such as hand soap or glass washer chemicals and operate a glassware washing machine.
Answer phones.
Maintain proper inventory of products.
Maintain a neat, professional image and appearance at all times.
Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items and hotel services.
Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills is required.
Must have the following skills: following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year experience as a bar back or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must be able to maintain appropriate Alcohol Awareness card.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over, and occasionally crouching during the duration of their shift.
Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry 100lbs or less frequently and 50lbs or less constantly.
The team member will constantly have repetitive use of both feet. Team member will constantly have repetitive use of their dominant hand, occasional use of their non-dominant hand, and constant light grasping motions. Team member will have frequent use of firm/strong grasping motion. Finger dexterity of both hands will be frequently required.
Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work performed outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts in possible confined areas around computer equipment and other mechanical devices.
Team Member may be around flame/heat generated devices.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Team Member may be exposed to extreme heat/cold, wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, slippery surfaces, dirt/dust, odor and/or secondhand smoke.
