Job description

Saalex is seeking a General Clerk III in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex Corporation is a professional services company delivering cutting-edge solutions to the Department of War. Salary: $21.45 hourly

Work Location: Fully onsite.

Position Summary:

The Clerk III provides advanced clerical and administrative support to help ensure the efficient operation of the work unit. This role performs independently assigned tasks with limited direct supervision and is responsible for maintaining records, compiling information, resolving data discrepancies, preparing documents, and supporting day-to-day office operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Input, maintain, select, and compile information in computer databases for reports, records, and other detailed documentation.

  • Resolve discrepancies between computer listings and other sources of information, including reconstructing information from multiple sources when needed.

  • Compile, edit, and type material from rough drafts.

  • Post actions to journals or logs and maintain both original and computerized filing systems.

  • Collate, copy, and distribute documents as needed.

  • Review and proofread documents for grammatical and statistical accuracy and make required corrections.

  • Receive and follow instructions for difficult or unusual assignments.

  • Review completed work for technical accuracy and appropriate use of established methods.

  • Interpret or adapt manuals, procedural guides, and reference materials to determine alternate work methods and solve problems.

  • Follow all applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and word processing software.

  • Familiarity with basic spreadsheet and graphics/presentation software in a Windows environment.

  • Proficiency using standard office equipment, such as personal computers, fax machines, adding machines, and related tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

  • Ability to review work for accuracy and resolve administrative or clerical issues using available reference materials.

  • Clerical experience in a functional area such as human resources, accounting, security, engineering, or a similar discipline.

  • Experience maintaining computerized file systems, databases, logs, or detailed administrative records.

  • Experience compiling information for reports or resolving discrepancies across multiple sources of information.

Education/Years of Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and Minimum of five (5) years of clerical experience required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily sedentary and performed in a typical office environment.

  • Some walking, stooping, bending, stair climbing, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

  • Travel to remote company work locations may be required.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
