Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Los Angeles Station Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of branch operations, sales growth, and financial performance. This leadership role is responsible for managing daily operations, developing business opportunities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence while fostering a high-performing team culture.

The ideal candidate possesses strong freight forwarding experience, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in branch management and P&L accountability. Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to effectively communicate with overseas offices, partners, and customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Branch & Operational Management

  • Oversee all station operations including Ocean Import/Export, Air Import/Export, Warehousing, and Transportation.
  • Ensure efficient and compliant execution of all freight forwarding activities.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable federal and state laws.

Financial & P&L Management

  • Manage branch profitability and achieve revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Monitor branch financial performance, costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives and growth plans.

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive business growth through customer acquisition and account expansion.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, carriers, vendors, and overseas agents.
  • Support strategic pricing, contract negotiations, and service solutions.
  • Identify new market opportunities within the Los Angeles region.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate branch employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer excellence.
  • Lead performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Promote employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment.

Customer Service & Compliance

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and issue resolution.
  • Maintain high service quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Human Resources on staffing, employee relations, and policy implementation.
  • Communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding branch performance and business initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in freight forwarding, NVOCC, or logistics management.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience managing teams and branch operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Warehousing, and Transportation operations.
  • Experience with P&L management and budget oversight.
  • Familiarity with CargoWise
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese required.
