Job description

A growing, highly regulated organization is seeking an Export Compliance Principal Specialist ( Direct Hire) to lead and strengthen its global trade compliance program. This individual will serve as the internal subject matter expert, driving regulatory strategy while ensuring adherence to U.S. and international export control laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of export compliance policies, ensuring adherence to ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and global trade regulations
  • Oversee product classification, jurisdiction determinations, and complex licensing activities including TAAs, MLAs, and regulatory submissions
  • Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies during audits, inquiries, and investigations
  • Conduct risk assessments, lead internal investigations, and implement corrective actions to mitigate compliance exposure
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of export compliance experience with deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and U.S. trade regulations
  • Proven experience managing export licensing, product classification, and regulatory interactions
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Location: Irvine, CA - Onsite M-F first 90 days, then hybrid (3 days office/2 remote)
Salary: $105K- $165K with 9% Annual Bonus
